Congress is out of control
... The best government money can buy ...

Lobying Against America

(CNN) -- There's no denying both political parties in Congress are now owned lock, stock and barrel by corporate interests. Our nation's elected officials in Washington have formed a partnership with the corporate supremacists and special interest groups in an effort to drive profits to the bottom line of U.S. multinationals at the expense of hard-working Americans. U.S. Loses Respect
Throughout The World

Is This What You Call
Democracy?

Is it any wonder that the U.S. has lost respect throughout the world? Everyone knows we have the best government money can buy. Special interests donate massive amounts of money to the campaigns of elected officials - and give favors of trips, entertainment, etc. Did you know that our elected officials in Congress use insider information to benefit themselves in the stock market?

Please read the article on loopholes in Congressional ethics entitled, "Hook or Crook in Washington; GOP's gutting of ethics rule should be no surprise" written by Professor Jonathan Turley

It is not just the Congress that is out of control. Government is out of control on all fronts. However, it will take responsible action by the Congress to fix it. Will they. NO, unless we force them. How do we do that? The communications of the Internet will help, but we have to get off our dead <beep> and raise <beep> with our government officials.

Congress must provide full disclosure of their intent and actions. We must start with Perestroika -- as Ronald Reagan said, "trust but verify" leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end to the cold war. For too long the public has trusted, but failed to verify the actions of the Government including the Congress. It is now time to bring down that wall between the government and the people and end reestablish the "government of the people, by the people and for the people."

In addition we must put pressure on the news media to, for a change, report real news and concentrate on Government misdeeds, misleads and pork -- instead of sensationalizing and repeating less important stories ad nauseam.

Then we need to define Congressional Commandments to which Congress must abide -- or face public outrage.

CONGRESSIONAL COMMANDMENTS

Commandment:
Thou shalt not lie, evade, mislead or speak in "spin-gibberish" to deceive anyone.

Commandment:
Thou shalt post all proposed legislation on the internet as soon as it is received by anyone in Congress.

Commandment:
Thou shalt create a Congressperson's Bill of Rights establishing that all Congresspersons are created equal and none shall have the right or authority to yield power over the other.

Commandment:
Thou shalt not load down legislation with pork.

Commandment:
Thou shalt put the welfare of the American people before special interests.

Commandment:
Thou shalt protect us from terrorism, close our borders, control immigration and setup a guest worker program for people from other countries.

Commandment:
Thou shalt pass legislation requiring the U.S. Supreme Court and other Courts to stop violating the Constitution of the United States -- and make all hearings of the U.S. Supreme and Appellate Courts open to television viewing.

Commandment:
Thou shalt stop outsourcing the jobs of U.S. work ers.

Commandment:
Thou shalt balance the budget and balance trade with other Nations.

Commandment:
Thou shalt throw out completely our current tax system and replace it with a simple tax system that applies equally to everyone -- with no tweaking beneficial to special interests.

Commandment:
Thou shalt provide a national health care system for all Americans equivalent to that provided members of Congress.
